Graham Daykin: A Lifetime Dedicated to Timekeeping Excellence

My fascination with the science and artistry of time began during my school years. What started as a hobby became a lifelong passion, leading to formal training in horology at Slough, England, where I graduated with a first-class pass and subsequently earned a certification from the British Horological Institute.

The Early Years

Sometime during the 80s, I launched my clockmaking business in Oxfordshire, England, but soon emigrated to the United States and established my workshop in the San Francisco Bay Area. In the mid-1990s, a career move for my spouse brought our family to San Antonio, where I helped customers across South Central Texas with their clock repair needs. Around 2010, we relocated to the Denver metropolitan area, where I worked on restoring and repairing clocks for the next 15 years.

Return to Texas

In 2025, following my spouse’s retirement, we decided to return to San Antonio —this time to stay—bringing with me decades of clock repair expertise and a commitment to serving the Texas Hill Country community.

Preserving History in Every Clock

To most people, a clock is far more than a device that keeps track of time. Often, it’s also a treasured family heirloom, a decorative piece with character, or a dependable fixture in the home. Every clock tells a story, and my role is to preserve that story by ensuring the clock’s original dial, case, and movement remain intact whenever possible.

Clock Works

My repair work spans a wide range of timepieces that involve cleaning, repairing, and fine-tuning their movements, bellows, and chimes. These include:
  • Grandfather and longcase clocks
  • French carriage and bracket clocks
  • Regulators and ATMOS clocks
  • Antique and modern electrical clocks
  • Beloved cuckoo clocks

Craftsmanship, Care, and Customer Trust

What sets my practice apart is not only the formal training and certification I received, but also the decades of practical experience, dexterity, and personal dedication to craftsmanship. I also provide my customers with detailed job assessments, honest advice, and guidance on how to preserve the value and originality of their clocks. Lastly, I gently remind them that even seemingly ordinary timepieces may hold more historical or sentimental worth than they realize.
